International Activity

President meeting international members and fellows

Our membership spans more than 80 countries across the world. We are committed to supporting and growing this international membership to set the highest possible standards of healthcare globally. We meet the needs of the international healthcare community by delivering core College activities in defined locations and providing a range of professional opportunities and services.

Fellows and Members of our College are recognised by postnominals that are an indication to their patients, their peers and their employers of their standing in the profession. Find out more about membership benefits.

We welcome physicians, surgeons, dentists, travel medicine and podiatric medicine specialists to attend one of our many international examining centres to sit their MRCP, MRCS, MFDS, MFTM, or MFPM exams and continue working with international partners to increase the number of centres available to ensure our exams are accessible to all.

Our network of international advisors is growing and expanding. Members of this network are key individuals who play a crucial role in bringing the College to you by developing educational and training activities locally, establishing and developing partnerships, and participating in projects and programmes. Fellows of our College who would like to be involved in developing our international activity can apply to become an international advisor.

Our Travel Medicine blended e-learning diploma courses attract professionals from all over the world. Members can also access a comprehensive range of information services and online resources via the Knowledge Network with an Athens account. This year, our flagship symposia will be webcast to international centres and our range of e-learning services will be expanded.

Through the Medical Training Initiative, we support international medical graduates to undertake training in the UK for a period of up to two years.

The Livingstone Fellowship aims to support physicians and surgeons in training from Malawi and Zambia to undertake a year’s Speciality training in the Scottish National Health Service. Please click here for further information about the Fellowship.

The College President, Vice Presidents and other Fellows and Members of our College regularly attend international conferences and events to showcase the important role our members play in shaping healthcare to ensure the highest standards are met.
