The Royal College of Surgeons of England and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow have recently concluded a review process of the Membership in Orthodontics examination. As a result of this, the Part 1 component of the Membership in Orthodontics examination (MOrth Part 1) has been discontinued with immediate effect. Candidates will no longer require the Part 1 – or an equivalent general membership qualification – to sit the MOrth examination.
This decision has been taken to ensure consistency of approach between specialty membership examinations managed by the Colleges in terms of structure and eligibility criteria.
The Part 2 of the examination (MOrth Part 2) will remain unchanged, other than now being referred to simply as the MOrth examination.
