The role 

The reception team are the first point of contact for many of our Fellows, Members and visitors to the College. The receptionist will be responsible for prioritising our visitor’s enquiries, directing telephone calls and forwarding E-mails to the relevant individual or department in a calm and efficient manner.

The post holder’s key role is to maintain the provision of day-to-day running of the College reception area, dealing professionally with telephone calls, e-mails, receipt of postal mail and deliveries and the facilitation of all staff and visitors to the College.

This post is responsible for assisting in welcoming and facilitating 15,000+ visitors to the College per year , in excess of 800 meetings and events held in College per year and over 100 College employees.While the working hours are normally Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1230/1230 to 1730 hours, the ideal postholders would be flexible and where possible be able to cover the morning/afternoon shift during any periods of sickness and absence of their work colleague.

  • This role will be 22.5 per week
  • This is a fixed term contract - 3 months
