FAQs
Can I attend both an in-person and virtual ceremony?
Our Virtual Ceremonies from 2023 onwards are designed for those who may not be able to travel to Glasgow for a variety of reasons but would still like their admission celebrated in an official ceremony. If you choose to attend a Virtual ceremony from 2023 onwards, you will not be eligible to also attend an in-person ceremony. The same applies for attending an in-person ceremony from September 2022, you will not then be eligible to also be included in a Virtual ceremony.
Can I bring more than 2 guests to an in-person ceremony?
We are limited by the capacity of our venues, and so we have a limit of 2 guests per delegate for all of our in-person ceremonies.
Where will the ceremonies be held?
The In-College ceremonies in November 22 and March 23 will be held in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow’s Maurice Bloch Lecture Theatre. The September 23 ceremony will be held in the University of Glasgow’s Bute Hall.
How do I hire a gown / photography for the in-person Ceremonies?
Our gown and photography hire are handled by a third-party company. We will email you details on how to book the gowns, which gowns to book, and photography once you have completed registration for an in-person ceremony.
Do I have to be a current Member or Fellow of the College to attend?
Your College Membership or Fellowship must be full and current at both the times of registration and the time of the ceremony to be included. There are some exceptions to this, including MRCP(UK) candidates, or various awards winners, who do not have to hold College membership to attend.
