Welcome to the College
Diploma ceremonies are a time to be remembered. Led by the College President and attended by your new colleagues, family and friends, it’s the perfect time to recognise your accomplishments and admission to the College.
If you’ve successfully passed an exam or course, such as the MRCP(UK) or one of our Travel Medicine courses, you’re eligible to become a Member of the College.
What happens at a Diploma Ceremony
All ceremonies take place in College Hall.
When you arrive, you should register with our team. They’ll direct you to where you can collect your robe. Professional photos will also be available at this time or after the ceremony.
Following an academic procession featuring the President and other Officer Bearers, you’ll be called upon to receive your certificate of attendance. Once the ceremony has finished, you and your guests will be invited to join the President for a drinks reception.

Frequently asked questions
Unfortunately, due to limited capacity, we can only allow you to bring two guests. However, we stream all our ceremonies on our YouTube channel where people can celebrate your day with you remotely. Recordings will also be available to buy shortly after each ceremony.
We recognise that Diploma Ceremony days are a time of celebration for the whole family. However, as the ceremonies themselves are formal evening events, we advise that they are not suitable for children under seven-years-old.
If it is not possible to make childcare arrangements, children are welcome to watch a livestream video of the ceremony in a relaxed space in the College. Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult guest at all times.
Babies under the age of two do not require a ticket.
