Zaynab Al Nasser, Lay Advisor

Zaynab is a practising family law solicitor with Turcan Connell in Glasgow. She advises clients on financial provision on separation, child contact and relocation matters, and prepares prenuptial, cohabitation and separation agreements. Her work includes cases before local Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session, often involving complex financial issues or international elements.

Drawing on extensive experience in relationship breakdown and child disputes, Zaynab recently obtained certification as a trauma-informed lawyer from the Law Society of Scotland, a new programme focusing on applying trauma-informed principles in legal practice.

She originally studied English Literature at the University of Leeds before undertaking an English law degree at BPP College of Law, followed by an accelerated Scottish law degree at the University of Glasgow.

In 2016 she joined the committee of Scottish Women in Business, becoming vice-president in 2017 and one of its youngest presidents the following year, stepping down in 2022 after six years. Zaynab joined the College lay advisory board in 2019 and later became a member of the College Scholarship Committee.
