Medical Elective Scholarship

We offer eight scholarships of up to £1,000 to medical students annually to enable them to spend 4-6 weeks studying abroad as part of their elective study within the medical school curriculum. Applicants should be medical students studying in the UK and at least 3 of the successful applications will be selected from University of Glasgow students.

Awards will be paid on approval of applications. All applications must be prospective; no award will be made retrospectively e.g. if your elective is taking place in 2025, you must submit your application by the closing date of November 2024. This is to ensure all applications are ready for review, which takes place in January annually. If your elective is taking place in 2024, the deadline has passed as these applications will be reviewed in January 2024. You must sign up for our affiliate membership (£15 annual subscription) to be eligible to apply for this Award. Please provide your PID number on your application.
