Fellows or Members of all faculties of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and/or those in academic study with the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow who hold a clinical academic position and/or undertaking translational research in an area relevant to medicine.

Details
The Leadership Development Scholarship Programme is a partnership between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow. It is designed to support those underrepresented in medical leadership positions, within either a clinical or academic setting.
The programme will help to develop leadership skills for individuals from underrepresented groups in leadership both in clinical practice and positions of academic study. It is of benefit to those in the early stages of working in leadership positions or those aspiring to become leaders.
Participants on the course will follow a bespoke programme of education, using this opportunity to network with, and learn from, the others on the programme. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will be a senior clinician or academic and will work with them throughout the programme. In addition to the bespoke programme, participants will be offered places on a number of College educational courses, either face-to-face or online based on the delivery mode in place at the time.

Applicants may be invited for further discussion prior to being offered a place on the course. The course will be fully funded by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the University of Glasgow.
Eligibility
Fellows or Members of all faculties of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Applications are welcome from all locations in the UK and internationally, however it is a requirement that any accepted candidate must attend the face to face education programmes in Glasgow.
Applications are also welcome for those in academic study with the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow holding a clinical academic position and/or undertaking translational research in an area relevant to medicine.
Additional Criteria
- Surgical and Medical Fellows or Members should be between ST6 or equivalent and up to 15 years post CCT.
- Dental Fellows and Members should be either up to 15 years’ post BDS or CCST.
- Fellows and Members of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow- applicants should be Experienced Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioners with an outstanding verifiable record of clinical podiatric medicine and may have undertaken recognised postgraduate education with evident integration within current and future practice.
- Fellows and Members of the Faculty of Travel Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow- applicants should have made significant contributions to Travel Medicine in research, practice or professional activities
- Those in academic positions within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow holding a clinical academic position and/or undertaking translational research in an area relevant to medicine.
- Those holding a clinical academic position and/or undertaking translational research in an area relevant to medicine within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow, applicants should be up to 15 years post CCT/PhD.
- Evidence of active involvement within the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, or the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences is desirable.
