Appointment of Chair of the ICBSE Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Committee
A new Chair is sought for the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Committee for the Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations (ICBSE) to succeed the current Chair, whose term ends on 30 April 2024.
The Internal Quality Assurance Committee monitors and reviews all components of the MRCS and MRCS (ENT) examinations to ensure that the highest possible standards are achieved and makes recommendations to improve any deficiencies.
Applicants are required to be a Member or Fellow of a Royal Medical College, have significant experience of the examination process at this level, and to be able to demonstrate a wide understanding of postgraduate medical education and principles of quality assurance. Appointment to the post will be by interview.
The closing date for applications is midday Thursday 21 September 2023. Interviews will take place via videoconference on the afternoon of Thursday 28 September 2023. The next subsequent IQA meeting is taking place on 17 November 2023, which will be used as part of the handover process and the successful applicant will be expected to Chair the April 2024 meeting.
