Fellowship Committee – Ordinary Member Vacancies (Medical and Surgical)
Expressions of interest are invited to fill 2 current vacancies on the College’s Fellowship Committee – 1 Ordinary Member (Surgical) and 1 Ordinary Member (Medical).
The main role and responsibilities of the Committee, which meets in College 3 – 4 times per year, are to:
Establish and review detailed admission criteria for all types of Fellowship.
Review and assess all nominations for Honorary Fellowships.
Review and assess all nominations for Fellowship qua Physician and Fellowship qua Surgeon.
Review and assess all applications for Membership (Surgical and Medical) where applicants have not sat and passed an approved College or Intercollegiate membership examination.
Make recommendations to Council on the admission of new Honorary Fellows, Fellows or Members on the basis of the assessments listed in paras 6.2 – 6.4 of the terms of reference.
Agree and finalise communications to all successful and unsuccessful applicants.
Appointments to the Committee are normally made for a term of 3 years, but may be extended to one further term of 3 years.
