Fellowship Committee – Ordinary Member Vacancies (Medical and Surgical)

Expressions of interest are invited to fill 2 current vacancies on the College’s Fellowship Committee – 1 Ordinary Member (Surgical) and 1 Ordinary Member (Medical).

The main role and responsibilities of the Committee, which meets in College 3 – 4 times per year, are to:

  • Establish and review detailed admission criteria for all types of Fellowship.
  • Review and assess all nominations for Honorary Fellowships.
  • Review and assess all nominations for Fellowship qua Physician and Fellowship qua Surgeon.
  • Review and assess all applications for Membership (Surgical and Medical) where applicants have not sat and passed an approved College or Intercollegiate membership examination.
  • Make recommendations to Council on the admission of new Honorary Fellows, Fellows or Members on the basis of the assessments listed in paras 6.2 – 6.4 of the terms of reference.
  • Agree and finalise communications to all successful and unsuccessful applicants.

Appointments to the Committee are normally made for a term of 3 years, but may be extended to one further term of 3 years.
