Mary Joan Macleod is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology with an interest in Stroke Medicine. After graduating and completing SHO and research training in Glasgow, she moved to Aberdeen, where she is the Clinical Lead for the Acute Stroke Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and involved with the Stroke MCN. She sits on the Clinical Examining Board and is involved with organising PACES locally.

She has been involved with all years of the undergraduate curriculum in Aberdeen, including organisation of written and OSCE examinations. Research interests include stroke genetics and epigenetics, stroke and TIA imaging, and stroke epidemiology.
