Dr. Khalid Mahmood

Dr. Khalid Mahmood is an eminent Physician with more than 34 years of experience as a Health Care provider and mentor for young aspiring Medical Graduates and Postgraduates in and outside Pakistan.

He has been employed with one of the largest public sector institutions of Pakistan, Dow University of Health Sciences and Civil Hospital Karachi after his Medical Graduation in 1984. He secured his Fellowship in Medicine from College of Physicians Pakistan in 1988 and is a Member of American College of Gastroenterology. Dr Mahmood has also been honored with Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Additionally Dr Mahmood has published more than 60 papers and publications in National and International peer reviewed Journals and has authored two Books, ”Medical Disorders in Pregnancy” & “Atlas of Diagnostic Radiology”.

He is currently working as Meritorious Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences in Dow University of Health Sciences.

Other responsibilities include Member of Curriculum Committee, Chairman Library and Chairman of Institutional (Ethical) Review Board of the University. In addition, he is also a Supervisor, Examiner and paper setter for Undergraduate & Postgraduate Examinations in different Medical Universities and the College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has supervised a large number of postgraduates in Medicine who are serving inside Pakistan and abroad.

He has been associated with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow as Organizing Examiner for IMRCS and has been awarded the FRCS (Hon). He has been examiner for FRCS (INT).

Coming from a humble background, his belief in returning back to the community from where he has emerged has led him to work for the poor and deserving patients which always has been his passion.

Reading books and watching sports are his favorable past times.
