Over the last 15 years Dom has worked all around the world setting up a wide range of expeditions, volunteer conservation and science research projects. Since his first expedition to Belize in 1999 he has led over 30 overseas expeditions with everything from teenagers on schools expeditions through to safety consultancy work for major blue chip companies operating in remote areas and a brief brush with television expeditions. He worked as a freelance trainer and expedition leader before in 2008 starting his own business, Field skills, with two colleagues running expeditions out to Borneo and specializing in safety training and consultancy, supporting a range of clients from schools and universities to blue chip businesses and charities.
Via a MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College, he now finds himself managing environmental projects rather closer to home, working with The Conservation Volunteers in Scotland where he leads the Communities and Biodiversity team, delivering a range of traineeship, citizen science and community engagement programmes.
