Eng is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a subspecialist interest in urinary stone disease. He did his Basic Surgical Training at the Mersey Deanery followed by a Master of Science research into peri-operative nutrition at the University of Liverpool. He then completed his Urology training in Scotland. For his love of countryside, he took up his consultant post in North Devon and Royal Devon & Exeter Hospitals. Over the years, he has played an active role in education and training e.g. he was an inspector for surgical posts for Scottish Royal Colleges' Board for Recognition, examiner at University of Dundee, external supervisor for PhD student at Robert Gordon University, reviewer for BJUI, honorary clinical fellow at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry/University of Exeter Medical School. Currently he is the surgical tutor for the trust, clinical and educational supervisor to trainees, appraiser for medical colleagues, faculty member of RCS Training The Trainers, Basic Surgical Skills and Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education. He is an examiner for University of Exeter Medical School, MRCS (Glasgow and Ireland) and Fellowship of European Board of Urology examinations. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, walking and hiking with his partner and their Cocker Spaniel.
