Scottish Diet Nutrition and Obesity Unit

15 Jun 2015

The College is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorraine Tulloch as Programme Lead for a new Unit, hosted in Glasgow on behalf of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties.

The College is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorraine Tulloch as Programme Lead for a new Unit, hosted in Glasgow on behalf of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties. Core funded by the Scottish Government, the Unit aims to inform and influence public health, eventually to reduce the number of Scots who are overweight by delivering leadership through health professionals in order to achieve a reduction in the proportion of people in Scotland whose health is threatened by obesity.

Lorraine Tulloch will begin to bring the work of the Unit together from June 2015, assisted by an Advisory Board appointed by the College. The Unit’s working title describes its sphere of interest although it is likely to change, and there will be a further announcement of the Unit’s title and draft programme in the autumn.

Lorraine Tulloch will be based in the College in St Vincent Street, and her contact details are as follows:

Tel: 0141 221 6072
Email:lorraine.tulloch@rcpsg.ac.uk

We look forward to bringing together a broad alliance of the professional and clinical community to make an impact on the most pressing new epidemic of our time that threatens public health and the NHS – obesity and overweight.
