Appointment of the Chair of the MRCP UK Part 2 Clinical Examining Board PACES

The Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK is seeking to appoint a Chair of the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examining Board.

The successful applicant will have overall responsibility for the clinical and academic leadership of the Clinical Examining Board and for the on-going development worldwide of the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examination in the context of the overall development of the MRCP(UK).

The Chair of the Clinical Examining Board is a member of the MRCP(UK) Management Board, the governing body of the examinations, and will advise on issues affecting the academic, operational, and policy aspects of the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examination relevant to on-going sustainability.

The person appointed will be a Fellow of one of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, practising in a medical specialty. A full list of responsibilities is set out in The Responsibilities and Duties of the Chair of the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examining Board (PACES).

Applicants should submit a brief outline of their professional training, together with a summary of their commitment to medical education and training, and their specific expertise in the MRCP(UK) Examination. Applications and enquiries to:

The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 25 March 2013 and interviews will take place on Wednesday 3 April at the Royal College of Physicians of London.

The successful applicant should be available to attend the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examining Board on Wednesday 22 May and Thursday 3 October 2013.
