The Goodall Symposium: Changing Minds

18 June 2020

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow

  • Please Note

After very careful consideration, we regret to inform you of our decision to cancel this event.

Our clinical workforce is already under significant pressure to deliver the highest standards of patient care, and the impact of the covid19 outbreak is going to stretch the system further over the coming months. Ensuring the highest levels of patient care and the health and wellbeing of healthcare professionals is our primary concern, and we feel it would not be responsible to proceed with activities that take our expert workforce away from frontline healthcare at this time.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Changing Minds: Neurosurgery and Psychiatry in 1950s and 60s Glasgow

During the mid-20th century Glasgow became a world leader in the fields of neurosurgery and psychiatry with some of the greatest minds working to change approaches to therapy and surgical techniques. This year our Goodall Symposium looks at the work of three of these great minds – R.D. Laing, Joseph Schorstein, and James Sloan Robertson.
