Dr Matt Wilkes
Matt is an Anaesthetic Registrar and para-glider pilot from Edinburgh with interests in Remote Medicine and Human Performance.
He has practiced in Bolivia, Nepal and New Zealand and flown all over East Africa with the AMREF Flying Doctors. He has been the Lead Doctor for several expeditions, including for the largest group ever to camp on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Matt is Director of Adventure Medic magazine and of the Free Flight Physiology Project. He holds a Master’s Degree in Mountain Medicine and is a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and the Royal Geographical Society. Matt is mid-way through a PhD studying the interaction of altitude, cold and cognition in free fliers.
