Educational Events Co-ordinator

35 hours per week - Salary scale Grade 3 – £22,160 - £25,852

Job Purpose

Reporting to the ET&PD Manager, the post holder will facilitate the organisation of postgraduate medical education for physicians, surgeons and dentists, travel medicine practitioners and podiatrists by co-ordinating the planning of educational events and other educational, training and professional development (ET&PD) activities as required. The remit involves: supporting the planning and development of marketing; strong communication skills to liaise with faculty and course delegates; and further to this engaging with sponsors to ensure their support. Additional duties involve routine administration of CPD activity.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Set Required:

Required

  • Educated to a degree level in Event Management, Marketing or Business discipline and/or have relevant experience
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and PowerPoint is essential, as is a familiarity with modern office IT systems and project management practices.
  • Use of online surveys and other online tools and media.
  • Involvement in delivery of events through webinars, video linking, e-learning and web streaming.
  • Demonstrable experience of organising large events and/or symposia including; all logistical arrangements as well as delegate/sponsor acquisition and budgetary control is essential.
  • Experience of organising training courses and workshops

Desirable

  • Knowledge of CPD activity
  • Understanding of the Medical/Educational/Public sector or not-for-profit environment

Project Manager (CRM)

18 month fixed term contract - 35 hours per week - Salary negotiable

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Deputy Head of IT, the job-holder will be responsible for the sourcing and delivery of a new CRM system and members’ self-service portal to fulfil the needs of the College. The job-holder will also be hands on during the implementation and setup of the new system.

  • To lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of a single, significant, cross-college project
  • To ensure the project is delivered within scope, quality, time and cost constraints.
  • To provide effective and dynamic project change and risk management to deliver the project successfully.
  • To realise business benefits and digital transformation aims.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Set Required:

Required

  • Demonstrable experience and successful track record in leading and managing the delivery of IT projects to scope, timescale and cost within an enterprise environment.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience.
  • Experience of working within both Prince 2 and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience of using MS Project and Project Online.
  • Experience of working closely with technical resource.
  • Understanding of change impact and business readiness and adoption management.
  • Experience of delivering IT change across an entire organisation.
  • Understanding of test planning and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with professionals with differing disciplinary backgrounds
  • Ability to challenge and document rationale for key decisions

Desirable

  • Enterprise Architecture and solution design
  • Experience of integrating systems
  • Experience of implementing a Dynamics CRM project using software partners
  • Experience of working within a membership organisation

Course Manager – Travel Medicine

3 days per week (with job share option) - Salary Scale Grade 6A - £34,472 - £39,390 (pro rata)

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Education, Training & Professional Development the jobholder will:

  • Plan, implement and develop Foundation and Diploma of Membership Courses in Travel Medicine, and any new courses related to Travel Medicine, as identified by the Faculty of Travel Medicine Education, Training and Professional Development Board.
  • Provide specialist knowledge to College in the field of Travel Medicine Education
  • Be supported by and give direction to the Travel Medicine Course Co-ordinator.
  • Other Faculty of Travel Medicine duties as required by the College
  • This post has scope for further development, both nationally and internationally with a specific focus on distance learning.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Set Required:

Successful candidates will have the requisite ability and experience to meet the specific requirements of the post. An informal discussion can also be arranged with the Deputy Head of ET&PD. The post is flexible and applicants may work at a distance but must have online access and be prepared to travel to College for specific meetings at key points of the academic year.

  • Registered with a National Professional Regulatory Body appropriate to professional background.
  • Higher Educational qualification in relevant subject.
  • Firm knowledge and understanding of post graduate learning.
  • Experience in design and delivery of distance learning training and education, and/or development of online education resources.
  • Excellent communication skills including written to publication standard.
  • Ability to teach at post graduate level including research methods.
  • Highly organised with ability to project and plan ahead.
  • Understanding of current assessment principles.
  • Experience of management, delivery and development of assessments and examinations
