ST3 recruitment

19 May 2018

The ST3 recruitment office has advised that all offers have now been completed following errors in the first round of offers. Since the problem was identified in early May, we have worked closely with all relevant agencies involved across the UK to support our members and ensure a quick resolution to this issue.

The ST3 recruitment office has advised that all offers have now been completed following errors in the first round of offers. Since the problem was identified in early May, we have worked closely with all relevant agencies involved across the UK to support our members and ensure a quick resolution to this issue.

We continue to offer support to any trainees who have been affected, and encourage anyone with concerns, or anyone who feels they have been unfairly disadvantaged to contact our trainees committee on traineecommittee@rcpsg.ac.uk .

Our Regional Advisors and College Tutors located in hospitals throughout the UK can also provide support locally. Do get in touch if there are any concerns you would like to talk over with them.

We recognise that our colleagues at the Royal College of Physicians of London, who are responsible for the ST3 recruitment process, have worked hard to provide regular, informative guidance during the re-running of the process.

Mistakes do happen, and human error is unavoidable. Being accountable, working in partnership with others to find a solution, and supporting those affected in every way we can, is one of the strengths that defines our healthcare profession.

We will be actively participating in an independent review that will be undertaken through Health Education England and the Royal College of Physicians of London to ensure we have the best systems in place to avoid similar errors in the future.
