We can search a range of resources on your behalf providing you with a list of abstracts and references. We can also assist with reference citation searching. Our literature search service is free and open to all members of the College. Introductory members can get help with search techniques and we can offer advice on how to get the most from databases.
How to request a literature search
To make use of our literature search service simply email us with details of your search. In your email please include your research question, keywords and alternate terms, years to be covered (eg last 5 years), age group (if applicable), evidence type (eg randomised controlled trials, journal articles, systematic reviews), and any other information that you think may be useful. We will normally respond to enquiries within one week.
We can also supply full-text copies of articles through our document delivery service.
We also offer advice on how to carry out your own literature searches. Please contact us to book a training session or try our online tutorial Getting Started With Your Research: a guide to using online library resources which has a really helpful section on planning literature searches.
